Gearing up the festive celebration and for the convenience of the rail passengers, like every year, this time too Government has arranged special train for Diwali, Chhath Puja, and Durga Pooja 2018-2017. The Indian Railway will introduce this train service to clear the extra rush during these festivals. The number is close to 4,000. Passengers will have to pay around 30% extra charge than usual fare to buy a ticket.
Adding to this, extra coaches will be added in 306 existing train to accommodate more passengers. This number goes about 9,500 and the special service is available for Kolkata, Patna, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad route.
The special train service has already started from September 15 onwards and will continue until October 30. You can buy tickets from IRCTC and order food on the train as well. This definitely is a major hope for people traveling a long distance to meet their dear ones during the festival. Let’s find out more details on the service.

Special Train for Chhath Puja 2017
Chhat Puja will be celebrated on 26th October. The day is inclusive of when the special train service for Diwali is available. Therefore, you can find train a suitable from the above list to travel.
Special Train for Durga Pooja 2017
As already mentioned the festival special trains are available from 15th September to 30th October, this includes the Durga Pooja days. Therefore, you can travel via the same trains.
